The Little Prince

A pilot, stranded in the desert, meets a little boy who is a prince on a planet. Based on the story by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, this magical musical fable begins as a pilot makes a forced landing on the barren Sahara Desert. He is befriended by a "little" prince from the planet Asteroid B-612. In the days that follow, the pilot learns of the small boy's history and planet-hopping journeys in which he met a King, a businessman, an historian, and a general. It isn't until he comes to Earth that the Little Prince learns the secrets of the importance of life from a Fox, a Snake, and the pilot.

MORE INFO ON Steven Warner: Steven first started out as a child actor, appearing in a string of minor TV roles and numerous TV commercials. He then went on to play the title role in Stanley Donen's musical feature film adaptation of the popular French story 'The Little Prince'. As part of the promotion for that film, he was the special guest on 'The Carol Burnett Show' in Los Angeles. From that successful film Steven has gone on to play a wide variety of parts in all sorts of entertainment, from the RSC to lavish ice shows, and from colorful pantomime to period drama. As you may guess this very diverse assortment of work has given Steven tremendous experience in many different parts of the industry.

MORE INFO ON STANLEY DONEN: Since he was a child, Stanley Donen attended dance classes and debuted on Broadway at age 17. With the help of the producer Arthur Freed and the actor Gene Kelly he got the chance to direct the musicals On the Town (1949), Singin' in the Rain (1952), and Love Is Better Than Ever (1952) which revolutionized the genre. Another important work of his own was the musical version of the book of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry 's The Little Prince (1974). As producer, he turned to the genre of comedy, with Surprise Package (1960), but he also produced some films of other genres.
