This signature was obtained in 1979 when the actor was at PEPPERDINE UNIVERSITY filming BATTLE OF THE NETWORK STARS.

He gained popularity when he starred in the popular ABC Sci-Fi UNIVERSAL STUDIOS 1979 Science Fiction series,

Battlestar Galactica

The last major Colonial fighter carrier leads a makeshift fleet of human refugees on a desperate search for the legendary planet Earth. The Human Colonial forces have agreed to peace with their mortal enemies the Robotic Cylons when a surprise attack destroys most of the Colonial Fleet. The remnants of the Colonials form up a "ragtag group of ships" on the surviving major ship, the Battlestar Galactica. They decide to go off in a search for the planet founded by missing tribe of the Colonials, a planet called earth as the Cylons continue to search for them.

MORE INFO ON RICHARD HATCH: Born in Santa Monica, California, USA, Richard Hatch was studying classical piano at the age of eight, and knew he wanted to carve out a career as a performer before he reached his teens. After attending Harbor College in San Pedro, he joined a Los Angeles repertory company with which he traveled to New York City in 1967. He performed in the plays "Song of Walt Whitman", "Young Rebels" and a production called "Exercise", which Richard directed. Richard was cast as the original "Philip Brent" in the soap "All My Children" (1970) in 1970. He later played "Inspector Dan Robbins" on the television series "The Streets of San Francisco" (1972). Richard Hatch is best remembered for his portrayal of "Apollo" on the series, "Battlestar Galactica" (1978).
